debc: (Sherlocl)

I have been totally obsessed with BBC's Sherlock recently, and as such, have been thinking about crossovers I would love to see fanworks for.

The most obvious:

Doctor Who & Torchwood

but I'd also like to see:

House, MD
Batman

Recs (because I have them)

A Study In Time - an awesomely wonderful, totally brilliant vid/trailer for a Sherlock/Doctor Who crossover, by [livejournal.com profile] di_br

Nothing Human is Alien to Me - and equally as awesome Sherlock/Torchwood crossover, in which Sherlock proclaims Jack to be "impossible" and Lestrade is groped in his car (among other things) , by [livejournal.com profile] marag

Okay, so... if anyone has recs they'd love to share re: the above crossovers... fic, vids, manips, macros... feel free to share the love!

debc: (Castle & Beckett)
So I'm looking at my au_bingo table (sadly, very empty) and have been pondering which of the prompts are actually feasible for me to write.

Today, I'm looking at Other: Disney and Other: Film Noir.

What do you think, flist?

Beckett & Castle ala "the Princess and the Frog" or Leroy Jethro Gibbs as a surly hard-boiled detective with a past he can't escape?

My story for [livejournal.com profile] au_bigbang is finished!!!!!  But I'm sooooooo tired now!

The plot for my [livejournal.com profile] au_bigbang fic has finally revealed itself to me!  I was afraid I was going to have to bow out, but whee!  Plot+Beginnings of an Outline... I HAZ IT!!!!!

Well, I've spent most of the day in bed, being REALLY sick.

Since I'm mostly okay, though, and kind of awake now, I thought I would drop the fics I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking.

This post really deserves my 'Squee' icon, you know why? Because I have lots of goodies in my [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking!

From [livejournal.com profile] wiccanslyr, two very awesome DW drabbles in which Donna is as awesome as only she can be! All because of the coffee and All because of the bees, part 2. Have I mentioned lately how much I love Donna Noble?

From [livejournal.com profile] yhlee, a delightfully cute Angel and Faith drabble, Let the Eat Cake. It funny, and just the way those two would be.

From [livejournal.com profile] velvetmouse, some old school Mulder&Scully, with a dead Immortal thrown into the mix.

From [livejournal.com profile] zangetsugirl, a short but sweet Moonlight drabble which was deceptively chocked full of bittersweet, angst and might have beens right along side of life affirming hope.

From [livejournal.com profile] storydivagirl, old school Gibbs/DiNozzo with worried!overorotective!Gibbs, a couple of head slaps and some elevator action. Can there really be too much elevator fic in NCIS?

From [livejournal.com profile] zeldaophelia, I got genderswapped Danny/Lindsay (CSI:NY), learning to lean on each other in the wake of Dannie's pregnancy. My Recent Silence, Part 2 It was a really great slice of life and totally in character for both of them, even genderswapped. :-)

I also got a couple batches of icons, a couple vouchers to redeem for fics/fanmixes of my own choosing, and some general holiday cheer.

In the giving department, I wrote 8 ficlets, made some icons and dustjackets for other people, and really surprised myself with an unexpected burst of creativity. My muses are waking up, and just in time to shower other people with gifties. :-)

I'll probably post those gifties later tonight or tomorrow, after I know all the recipients have had a chance to respond to them.

So... I've managed to get 7 stockings stuff for [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking so far.

Two are graphics goodies but the other 5 are drabbles... three of which constitute new fandoms for me to write in and one a new pairing in an old fandom. It's the most I've written in about a year.

[livejournal.com profile] medie has been hard at work getting everyone's [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stockings up ready to be stuffed... here's mine.

I totally forgot to say that I would adore icons or dustjackets for my fics when I filled out my form this year.

Ah well, it's not like I'm writing that much fic these days anyway.

...

Except you know, that I did post something today .... and the fact that reloading my fanfics to my archive (for hopefully the last time) has rekindled my interest in writing. I actually want to, even though I don't have any decent plot bunnies to explore in *current fandoms.*

Prompts... people could give me prompts... you know, if you wanted to.

And randomly... I need new icons. In general, I need new icons.
debc: (Default)
So, in the wake of Ink and Quill's recent reboot, I have been reloading old fanfic.

These are the first two fanfics that I ever wrote., written back in 1996.

And here's one I don't even remember having written at all!

Ah, Forever Knight fandom!  I loved thee well!

(On a related note, I&Q is back online.  Whee!)
debc: (Default)
Well, it's that time of year again.... time to look back and see what I've written this year. Last year, as some of you may recall, I wrote a said little 8 fics and vowed to write more than that.

Here's what I have for 2008.

This coming year is going to be a little bit different for me.  I am planning to take a 'fanfic hiatus' to focus more writing original fiction.  I use the term 'planning to' loosely because I don't know if I can stick to it... much like New Years resolutions or something.  My plan (again, in the loosest sense of the word) is to write a series of short fics or drabbles starring the main characters from what I hope will be next year's NaNoWriMo novel... a detective series about an ex-con turned private investigator.  I may ask my flist (those of you who don't read this and unfriend me because of the impending threat of a fanfic hiatus, that is) to give me prompts for those ficlets from time to time.

Also, I'll heavily stress that I have no clue if I can or will actually stick to that whole 'fanfic hiatus' thing.  If the fic strikes me, I may just have to write it.  Also, there are b-day ficlets aand things like that to consider. Terms like 'planning on' are... more like guidelines anyway.  *g*

Happy V-day everyone!  *snugs F-list tightly*

I'd like to start the day by thanking [livejournal.com profile] azarsuerte and the Anonymous F-lister for the wonderful virtul gifties I woke up to this morning!   Thank you so much!  *HUGS*

Next, I'd like to direct everyone to Seasons of the Heart's Valentines Day section, wherein there are loverly ficcies waiting for you to read!

Seasons of the Heart is Ink and Quill's holiday showcase, newly revived after a 2 (or was it 3) three year hiatus.  There you can find all kinds of fanfics for all different occasions from holidays to birthdays & anniversaries, all lovingly written by the amazingly talented ladies of Ink and Quill.

Next, I'd like to point your attention to an entirely different V-Day, aiming to put an end to violence towards women and girls.  I'm not a feminist by any stretch of the word, but I a woman and a mother and if my daughter can grow up to be safe from this sort of violence and abuse, I would be very, very happy.

Lastly, I'd like to welcome [livejournal.com profile] ladybug218 to my journal and flist.  *tosses confetti*

(Leaving this public for today, but may flock it later.  Have a great day, everyone!)

 Title: afraid to run away
Author: [livejournal.com profile] debc
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Heroes
Characters: Matt Parkman, Mohinder Suresh, Molly Walker, Sylar
Pairings: Matt/Mohinder
Warnings: slash, character death (implied)
Quote Used: Some have been thought brave because they were afraid to run away. -- Thomas Fuller

Author's Notes: I had the plot bunny for a while, because I intended to as a Christmas prezzie for [livejournal.com profile] medie, who had complained about an utter lack of recognition for what Matt could really do after defeating his father, but it never really took on life until I read the quote above, so here it is.  A little late to be a prezzie fic, but oh well. (I gave it to her anyway *g*)

Well, here's a hodge podge of things to share today.

We took Steve to the airport today and I fought tears all the way home.  more on that front )

This year, I joined [livejournal.com profile] embodiment, which is a challenge to keep an actual, physical journal and write in it daily.  My intro post is here and today's entry is here

And I officially opened the new comm I created, [livejournal.com profile] quote_fics.  It's a fic comm which uses quotes as prompts.  Posted the first set this morning after Dick Clark's New Year's thing.

So click the image, check it out, join, pimp, whatever.  Please?  *begs*

And lastly... my end of the year fanfic round up is here.

It's depressing, isn't it?  I need to write more, people!

I know, I know... as if I needed another 100-comm, right?

Well, this one's just starting up and not a lot of stuff has been, so it tempted me.

I've signed up for NCIS, general series, which means I can write any character or pairing as the mood strikes me.

And now for the Big Damn Table. )
debc: (Default)

I need a quick beta read on a Stargate SG-1/Bones crossover I worte for azarsuerte’s birthday. It has to be quick, because I have to post it to [livejournal.com profile] _news_is_good before she gets home from San Diego today.

Does anyone out there know enough (or anything) about both shows to give me a hand? *begs* *pleads* *gives you puppy dog eyes*
